Standards

The rules our pages follow, and how to hold us to them.

Evidence before claims

A statement about a firm needs a source we can link to: a regulator’s register, the firm’s own published terms, or an official notice. Pros and cons in a verdict each rest on a specific checked fact.

No labels without a register

We don’t call firms “scams”. We show what the registers say: authorised, lapsed, revoked, or not found. Regulator warnings are reported with a link to the notice.

No “best broker” lists

Lists on BrokerWarden are ordered by licence status and name, never by score. The right firm depends on where you live and what protection applies there, which a single ranking can’t capture.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and the page’s date changes. Send corrections through tell us.

How BrokerWarden is funded

BrokerWarden has no revenue at present. It carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and no firm pays to be listed or to change how it is shown. A firm cannot change its licence map or scores: both are computed from checked facts and the published weights on How we check.
