The data controller's details will be published here before launch.

When you read the site

We don’t use cookies, advertising tags or third-party analytics. Fonts are served from our own site, so reading a page doesn’t contact any other company.

To know which articles are read, your browser sends us one note per article per visit: the article, the day, and a broad category of where you came from (for example “search” or “direct”). We don’t record your IP address, the exact page you came from, or anything that identifies you. To avoid counting a reload twice, your browser remembers which articles it has already counted until you close the tab.

On a firm page, your browser asks our site which country your connection comes from, so the page can open on your country’s rules. The answer is a two-letter country code worked out by our hosting provider; we don’t store it.

Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs to run and protect the service.

When you send a report

If you use tell us, we store what you type and, only if you give it, your email address, so we can ask a follow-up question. We use it to check the firm and for nothing else, and we never publish it or share your email. Card numbers and passwords pasted into the form are removed before it’s saved. To limit abuse we briefly hold a scrambled form of your connection address in memory; it is never stored.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete a report you sent using the contact details that will be published here. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority where you live.
